What is Buttock AugmentationButtock Augmentation

The use of implants or autologous (your own) fat to increase the size of the buttock and improve its shape. By far the most common procedure is the use of autologous fat, also known as the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL). This procedure uses liposuction to contour your back and thighs and in the process harvest fat for injection in the subcutaneous and intramuscular plane of your buttock. The result is an improved contour with added projection.

An buttock augmentation will:

  • Remove wrinkles and depressions in your buttock
  • Symmetrically increase the size of your buttock
  • Results in a more toned and proportionate appearance
  • Reduce excess fat in the “love-handle” region

A special note:

The procedure is performed with only small stab incisions < 0.5 mm wide in the inguinal fold and intragluteal fold. The recovery is quick and the results immediate.

Is it right for me?

In general, candidates for an arm lift include:

  • Adults with loss of buttock volume from weight loss
  • Adults of any age whose weight is relatively stable
  • Healthy individuals who do not have medical conditions that can impair healing or increase risk of surgery
  • Individuals with a positive outlook and realistic expectations

Step 1 – Anesthesia

Medications are administered for your comfort during the surgical procedures. The choices include intravenous sedation and general anesthesia. Your doctor will recommend the best choice for you.

Step 2 – The incisions

Incisions are placed in the inguinal region in areas that are covered by the bikini line and in the inter or lower gluteal crease.

Step 3 – Liposuction and Fat Grafting

Tumescent solution is used to infiltrated the subcutaneous fat in the abdomen, sides, back and medial and lateral thigh region. Fat is liposuction with care not to exceed a negative pressure that will injure the harvested fat cells. The lipoaspirate is allowed to settle, separating the fat from the serous portion of the aspirate. In this step, a centrifuge is used to separate the fat. The fat is collected in sterile syringes for grafting. The grafting is performed via the same liposuction incisions with fat grafting cannulas.

Step 4 – See the results

The smoother, tighter contours, and increased volume of the buttock are seen immediately. Careful postop care with oral antibiotics and compression garments are necessary.

The results will be long-lasting

The results of buttock fat grafting surgery will be long-lasting, provided that you maintain a stable weight and general fitness. As your body ages, it is natural to lose some firmness, but most of your improvement should be relatively permanent.
